Live Nation is now spinning its online concert destination into a portable, widget-based play. The live performance giant has been steadily investing in online initiatives, and last year launched a comprehensive concert listing and ecommerce destination at LiveNation.com. The latest move fits into a broader digital outreach, and brings concert information and sales functionality closer to the user. The downloadable widgets - which are easily positioned within personal web pages, blogs, and profile pages - allow visitors to quickly find upcoming gigs. The portable application also supports ticket purchasing, a functionality designed to lubricate commerce channels.
Additionally, Live Nation is also introducing a concert-focused search toolbar, as well as a Google Gadget for customized search results. "These new features give more power and access to online music fans, enabling them to effortlessly search for and buy concert tickets through their own websites," said Live Nation Global Digital president Bryan Perez. The portable applications were first disclosed on Tuesday.
